Terms of Service
By downloading or using My Dreams, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. An account is required to use My Dreams. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
1. Eligibility & age
You must be at least 16 years old to use My Dreams. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.
2. What the app does
My Dreams lets you record dreams (by voice or text), receive AI-generated reflective interpretations, and - on a paid plan - generate an AI dream-art image and one short AI animated video per dream.
3. AI content is for reflection only - not advice
Interpretations and videos are generated by artificial intelligence for self-reflection and entertainment. They are not medical, psychological, diagnostic, legal, or predictive advice, are not a substitute for professional help, and may be inaccurate. Do not rely on them for any important decision. If you are in distress or crisis, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.
4. Your content and the rules that apply to it
- You keep ownership of the dreams you write. You grant us a limited licence to store and process your content solely to provide the app's features (including sending it to the AI processors described in the Privacy Policy).
- Immutability: once you save (“seal”) a dream, its text cannot be edited. You can edit only at the draft stage before saving.
- One video per dream, no regeneration: each dream may have at most one generated video, and videos cannot be regenerated.
- You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the right to submit it.
5. Acceptable use & content safety
You may journal whatever you dream - including difficult content - and we will keep that text with care. However, interpretation and video generation are restricted. Before an interpretation or a video is generated, your dream text passes through an automated safety gate, and we will decline to generate an interpretation or a video for content in prohibited categories, including but not limited to graphic violence, death, gore, sexual content, hate, illegal acts, and any sexualization of minors. In those cases your dream text is still saved, but no interpretation or video is produced for it, and the declined request does not count against your allowance. You agree not to attempt to misuse the app to generate prohibited content.
6. AI-generated content & labeling
Interpretations, images, and videos in My Dreams are generated by artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate; they are provided for self-reflection and entertainment only (see Section 3). AI-generated images and videos are labeled “AI-generated” within the app, and you agree not to remove or obscure these labels when sharing. Under the EU AI Act (Article 50) (applicable from 2 August 2026), AI-generated or synthetic media must be disclosed; we provide this disclosure through the in-app label and our Privacy Policy.
7. Subscriptions, allowances & billing
- My Dreams offers a free tier and paid Plus and Pro subscriptions. Current prices and allowances are shown in the app's paywall.
- Allowances reset on a rolling 30-day window (for example, a set number of dreams and videos per 30 days, depending on your tier). Deleting a dream or video does not restore an allowance slot within the current window.
- Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play and are billed by them. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your App Store / Google Play account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by the app stores under their policies. We do not process card payments directly for in-app purchases.
8. Accounts
An account is required to use My Dreams. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from within the app.
9. Service changes & availability
We may add, change, or remove features, and we may rely on third-party providers whose availability or pricing can change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Report & takedown
If a generated video or any content concerns you, use the in-app report control or email contact@getmydreams.app. We review reports and may remove content and take action on accounts that violate these Terms.
11. Disclaimers
The app and all AI-generated content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, My Dreams and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the app or any AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify My Dreams against claims arising from your misuse of the app or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
14. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. disclaimers, liability limits) will survive.
15. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before bringing any claim, you agree to first contact us at contact@getmydreams.app so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that is not resolved that way will be handled exclusively by the state and federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there. We do not require binding arbitration, and these Terms contain no class-action waiver.
16. Apple- and Google-specific terms
If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge these Terms are between you and My Dreamsonly, not Apple, and that Apple is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce them. Similar acknowledgements apply to Google Play. The applicable store's terms also govern your use to the extent required.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms; we will post the updated version here and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
